World Championships of Performing Arts

This was the most exciting opportunity I have been presented with so far.......... I sent off an audition video and statement and I was selected to be a member of the first ever Team UK to go to the World Championships in California!

 

HOWEVER......I needed to get sponsorship in order to be able

to make this dream come true.......... and I did!

 

On the run up to the World Championships I was involved in fundraising and networking

with local and national companies to raise sponsorship of£4,000 needed in order to get to

California and be part of Team UK.

 

Then this became my latest project to continue my fundraising for

Birmingham Children's Hospital in memory of my brother George.

I raised £2357 as I pledged that any money received above my target amount for sponsorship and the proceeds from my 'thank you' concert on 27th June would be given to Birmingham Children's Hospital.

I WON 4 SILVER MEDALS!

in the events: Vocal Broadway, Vocal Pop, Vocal Variety and Song and Dance

I had the most amazing time and made lots of new friends from around the world. I gained so much valuable experience and came away with medals when I didn't expect to win anything! I have shared some photos below and the videos of my performances. Thank you once again to all of my sponsors.

This is what I wrote and sent with my audition video

for The World Championships:

 

Billy Vale (Aged 12) from the United Kingdom.

I would absolutely love to represent my country at The World Championship of Performing Arts in California in 2015 as I know I would never live long enough for another opportunity to come along like this! I have known for a while now that I would love to be a professional singer, actor and dancer and my passion is Musical Theatre. What better way to gain experience and a worldwide stage than being in The World Championship? I know that I have the ability to work hard and achieve the best I am capable of, which quite a few people (tutors and audience members) have told me is very good. I am keen to learn and improve my skills and would love this particular opportunity to further my experience. I know that I would not let anyone down and want to make my parents and grandparents proud of me as well as my older brother who died of cancer nearly 4 years ago.  I am very proud that
